Celebrating 10,000 Website Views: A Milestone of Gratitude By Mary Lourdes Bonnici MBA Today, I am delighted to celebrate an important achievement—my website has officially reached 10,000 views. When I created my website, my purpose was to establish a welcoming place where knowledge, education and inspiration could be shared. Through my articles and the Business Administration Learning Academy, I have worked to provide valuable information that supports continuous learning, personal development and professional growth. Reaching 10,000 views means much more to me than a number. Every visit represents someone who took the time to read an article, explore a lesson, watch a video or discover a new idea. Knowing that my work is reaching and helping others inspires me to continue developing meaningful educational content. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to everyone who has supported my journey. Thank you to those who visited my website, shared my articles, watched my video...

Sometimes We Forget the Good Things Around Us: Learning to Notice What We Already Have

Sometimes We Forget the Good Things Around Us: Learning to Notice What We Already Have By Mary Lourdes Bonnici MBA Sometimes we become so focused on what is missing that we stop noticing what is already there. We think about the goal we have not yet reached, the problem we have not solved, the person who disappointed us, the opportunity that did not arrive, the plans that changed, or the future we are still waiting for. Meanwhile, life continues quietly around us. Someone cares about us. The sun rises. A message arrives from someone who remembered us. We sit down with a cup of tea or coffee. We hear laughter. We look at a beautiful sky. Someone shows us kindness. We have another opportunity to learn something, change something, forgive someone, help someone or simply experience another day. None of these things makes life's genuine difficulties disappear. But sometimes we become so occupied by what is wrong that we stop seeing what is still good. That is why gratitude matters. Gr...

Why Time Feels Like It Speeds Up as We Age: The Psychology of Time Perception

Image
Why Time Feels Like It Speeds Up as We Age: The Psychology of Time Perception By Mary Lourdes Bonnici MBA Have you ever looked back and wondered how another year disappeared so quickly? As children, summer holidays could seem almost endless. Birthdays appeared to take forever to arrive, and even a school year could feel like a remarkably long period. Yet as adulthood progresses, months often seem to merge together and years can appear to pass with surprising speed. The clocks themselves have not changed. A minute still contains sixty seconds and a year still contains approximately 365 days. What changes is our subjective experience of time. Psychological research suggests that our perception of time is influenced by attention, memory, emotion, novelty, routine and the way experiences are encoded by the brain. Age can influence some of these processes, although researchers caution that there is no single universal explanation for why time appears to accelerate as people grow older...

Qawl Malti Kuljum “Kull deni ħudu b’ġid.”

Qawl Malti Kuljum “Kull deni ħudu b’ġid.” Mary Lourdes Bonnici Introduzzjoni Mhux kull ġurnata tmur kif nixtiequ. Xi drabi niltaqgħu ma’ diżappunt, bidla mhux mistennija jew sitwazzjoni li għall-ewwel tidher negattiva. Hawn jidħol il-qawl Malti: “Kull deni ħudu b’ġid.” Ftit kliem, iżda messaġġ profond: meta niffaċċjaw diffikultà, nistgħu nippruvaw infittxu x’nistgħu nitgħallmu minnha jew x’ġid jista’ eventwalment joħroġ minnha. Xi jfisser il-qawl? Il-kelma “deni” hawnhekk tirreferi għal xi ħaġa ħażina, diffikultà jew sitwazzjoni mhux mixtieqa. Il-qawl ma jfissirx li għandna nippretendu li kull ħaġa ħażina hija tajba. Lanqas ma jfisser li għandna ninjoraw niket, diżappunt jew tbatija. Il-messaġġ huwa aktar bilanċjat: anke minn esperjenza diffiċli, kultant nistgħu nieħdu tagħlima, nibdlu direzzjoni jew niskopru opportunità li qabel ma konniex naraw. Il-kuntest kulturali Il-qwiel Maltin ħafna drabi jirriflettu mentalità prattika u reżiljenti. Ġenerazzjonijiet ta’ Mal...
